  • Brilliant pad varnish for antique furniture.
  • Glossy and very hard, it offers a fine finish to styled items.

Pore clogging:

  • To avoid excessive absorption by the wood, starting from the rough, it is advisable to apply a coat, either by spray or with a brush, with our dry-sandable nitro base coat type SU0220/00. Once the primer has dried, sand with fine abrasive paper and, after having removed the sanding residues, you can start the buffering phase.

Coverage:

  • With a wool pad, enclosed in a very loose cloth to allow a good flow of paint, apply diluted SA1000/00, initially along the vein, then in circles with tight circles, without using oil, and drying the pad very well before wetting it again with more paint, in order to spread it without creating thickness, as the product must be worked carefully in order to perform its function of great coverage. With two wets a sufficient thickness should be obtained and the coverage should be completed if the preparation of the base with turapori has been done accurately. At this point, a night of settling is advisable to allow the wood to absorb and allow the applied paint film to dry sufficiently.

Finish:

  • It will be necessary to indulge by giving two more drops of SA1000/00 always diluted with 94° ethyl alcohol, helping the dabbing work with vaseline oil (a few drops on the swab). A final pass with the swab moistened with alcohol will then help to obtain softer surfaces and to remove any marks that the buffering operations may have left. If you want a fuller, brighter and more resistant polish, the next day you can give 2-3 drops of extra SA0040/00 pad varnish, a finishing pad varnish diluted 100% with 94° ethyl alcohol and using a few drops of oil to make the pad slide and then finishing as described. Before moving on to polishing the piece using our Polish XP1088/00 by hand, or by machine with a moltopren pad, wait at least two hours, after which the polishing will be completed. This system is extremely economical and is particularly suitable for all porous, light and dark woods. For polishing interiors, after a good preparation of the SU0220/00 sandable primer, two or three dabs of the product SA1000/00, glossy polish, as described in the "covering" item and a light pass with the swab moistened with alcohol, along the vein, are sufficient. You will get extremely cheap interiors, soft to the touch and with the wood sufficiently protected.

Polishing old furniture:

  • The furniture to be finished or re-polished, previously painted with a pad, can be done with the system described in this newsletter. However, it is very important to remove the old paint with paper or paint remover. Sand carefully with 320-400 grit paper, wet after having eliminated all the residues with a rag moistened with straw-coloured oil and start the painting work starting from the "cover" item onwards.
